So for my birthday all I had asked for is a ticket to Iceland and a GoPro camera and lucky for me all my wishes came true. I sat down in front of my parents as I opened both the tickets and the camera (in the correct order) and a smile stretched ear to ear across my face.
Now lets get something straight, I was by no means trying to be an internet sensation vlogger, but just wanted to capture my trip with a good quality camera that was very versatile.
So a few weeks after my birthday I jetted off and probably to your surprise I had not used the camera before. So whilst I was on the plane (from London) I used the time to set it up correctly… Or at least I thought it was correct…
I got to the airport quite late so quickly unpacked and got some sleep before I headed around the island in my rented car the following morning. And that’s exactly what I did, I had an absolute blast of a time visiting different hot springs, volcanos and mountains and capturing it all on my GoPro… Or at least I thought I did.
I got back to the hotel on the evening of my first day and after freshening up, downloaded all my photos and videos on to my laptop. And you can probably imagine my reaction when I opened the first video to see that the camera was actually pointed towards me, rather than what I wanted to film. So yes, a days worth of filming of my face looking rather focused. Great.
I still had another 3 days exploring so I soon made sure that the camera was in fact correct so I could actually show people that I did go to Iceland.
